How do you track IT trends and collaborate with your team?

We use a combination of communication and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Teams, email, WhatsApp, and more. Microsoft Teams serves as a central hub for our team's communication and collaboration needs. We use it for real-time messaging, video conferencing, and document sharing. Email remains a critical tool for formal communication. WhatsAppi s used for quick, informal communication, enabling us to stay connected even when on the go. We stay up to date with industry trends through various IT news websites, blogs, and social media platforms. This multi-faceted approach ensures that we are well-informed about the latest IT trends and can collaborate efficiently to adapt and implement them into our projects and strategies.

Now a days IT trends and collaboration tools are too many, so the most important thing based on my experience is to make a specific process clear for each top, so team can use it effectively and come with the best results. Of course choosing platform that is reliable, simple and powerful that suits the work mode so it will not make things harder and stay well organized.

Talking to others (online meetings with audio or even going all the way back to a phone call) can do allot for frictionless communications. Hey, there are always in person meetings but those are sooooooooo 2019!

In terms of tracking IT trends, we need to look into the maturity of the technology and business adoption. Additional the skulking of the resources is the fundamental.

I have a recent experience with ChatGPT, Bard and MS Bing Search that shows that these AI tools can save significant time in mining information, whether it is across the internet or inside the organization. We now use the MS Copilot to build sales collateral for new opportunities, based upon the existing collateral across our organization.

IT is driving the economies as the important decisions are being taken based on Data being processed , formatted in presentable shape to take decision in quick succession.

The fundamental question here is what and how much to share, and although all books tell you to be "an open book", there is value in shielding the organization you lead from corporate politics and distracting factors. What is my approach? I share on a "need to know basis" while trying to be as transparent as I can without surfacing blocks and impediments to the team.

I agree, also MS Teams is a great tool. In a recent experience with my marketing team to build a campaign for a new office where we started business, we found that MS Teams is a great platform to share information over calls, video conferences, and shared documents. We can continue to chat on a specific topic after our calls and the team structure allows us to bring whoever we want/need into the discussion at our convenience and have them see all the history as they roll on.

I have a previous experience with DataDog, where one of our SaaS offerings was receiving complaints from users for its performance and availability whereas it looked fine for our team. A set of performance dashboards covering multiple aspects of the software itself, it's database, network performance, input/output metrics and others. This showed us all where and when blockages happened and allowed us to take action.

Lunch and learn sessions were great in sharing ideas. Information within IT teams should flow in all directions, bottom-up, top-down and across. Getting together for lunch while allowing each team member to talk about their findings, experiences and trends they discovered makes information flow naturally and unrestricted, besides giving everyone a voice.
