One of the important benefits of testing your Front-End application is to hit two birds with one bullet by testing the accessibility and UI as well. ARIA roles like banner, button, heading, table, etc and that's why in React-Testing-Library it is highly discouraged to use query functions like getByTestId and use data-testid attribute on your components because you will lose half the benefits all at once! It is highly recommended to query the elements in the below order: 1- ByRole 2- ByLabelText ( including aria-label attribute ) 3- ByPlaceholderText 4- ByText 5- ByDisplayValue 6- ByAltText 7- ByTitle 8- ByTestId
