The best ideas are often ones that bank on an unapparent but emerging macro trend - something needs to change about the world in a big way for your idea to work, but you see/have strong conviction that the world is moving in that direction. An idea is worth pursuing if it has the potential to solve a core problem (no adequate solution today and people are hacking it) for a significant portion of your TAM (1 billion or 10 people) in a meaningful way (will they write you a thank you note?) that drives impact ($, engagement, environmental benefit).

Normalize graveyards. Really big lists of backlogs creates a bad morale in the team. Have processes to screen your backlog and sunset items to graveyards. Backlogs are a powerful refections of trade-offs we inevitably make during the course of product development that we need to go back and fix without being forgotten.
