So, even after reading from or listening to academics, it is important to always do some unbiased introspection to ensure your conclusion is closest to the truth. It is a bit complicated to stay informed about economic systems and institutions. This is because, different regions go about things differently and different economic shock affects countries and regions differently. What I usually do is, I read reputable journals. But I don't end there, I also look for local and regional resources so I can get a better understanding of what's really happening and how the locals there are reacting to whatever the economic system is. It is one thing to read something in a journal about Ghana's economy in some article written in New York, and another to use local resources. So, it is important for me to use multiple sources if I want to get a better understanding.
