Most of the time, it is just common sense. One must get the basic principles right first, then the rest will follow. As a beginner, start with the smallest then slowly move up to more complicated things. The basic principles of structural engineering still remain the same.

I would believe the opposite in true. Technical language should not be avoided, as they are not growing up in an isolated environment. They need to learn the common language of the industry, so that they may communicate clearly with others outside of their ecosphere. What is needed, is to humanise the language so that they relate the terms and formula to physical phenomena. If jargon is put into context of the things they see in their daily lives, it would go a long way to helping them better build a common language. Without an appreciation beyond the jargon, their knowledge can only be said as shallow. If they are only capable of regurgitating jargon, then their replacement by AI is not far.

Acredito que mais importante do que aprender termos e simbologia é come?ar entendendo os fen?menos físicos, como os materiais se comportam e suas características, como os carregamentos atuam nas estruturas e como elas se comportam quando submetidas aos carregamentos. Acredito que o mais importante de início é conseguir demonstrar de forma visual e tangível o que ocorre nas estruturas, porém, n?o acho que os termos técnicos devem ser negligenciados, visto que estamos lidando com profissionais. Understanding physical phenomena in engineering—material behavior, load impact on structures—is crucial. Visual demonstration matters initially, but technical terms shouldn't be neglected in a professional context.

Lessons Learned by Structural Engineers is sorely lacking. The "Drywall Effect" - (Person in the next office doesn't know what you know), and will never know unless there is interoffice communication skills on current problems and successful solutions.
