How do you report database incidents and resolutions?

My leave was cut short when staff could not log in to ERP. After careful analysis of the server (host OS and Database Server), I found that the databases had been hit by ransomware and all databases had been encrypted. The first thing to do was to isolate the server from the network to make sure no other servers were going to be affected. Together as a team look in to all the possible way to find the root cause from the data such as network logs , system logs , database logs and from system views of database and from other significant DB tools. Create a Plan with team / individually and execute it. It includes details of the incident . Assign tasks to team members or in individual case make a proper step by step document plan and execute it . It should be align as per company policy and ethics and also informed management and concern teams regarding the same. At the end, once the issue has been resolved again recheck it and keep and eye on it also informed stack holders about the same also monitor database and server performance till it get back to normal phase.
