How do you promote user-centered design and research in your industry?

I have been promoting UCD and UCR by pioneering the CORE UX methodical techniques execution which are logically connected and scientifically synthesized by rationalizing and reasoning out with zero speculations, zero assumptions, zero biases, and zero loopholes. This CORE UX methodical technique infuses the deep-dive model that helps UX experts to absolutely and evidently deep-diving from the stage of the... Business case to users' problems. Users' problems to problem-solving solutions. Problem-solving solutions to business outcomes and results. Above all by aligning stakeholders' metrics and business metrics through UCD and UCR religiously and uncompromisingly followed in the CORE UX methodical techniques explained above.

I think it is mandatory to educate stakeholders early on the value of upfront UX work to set expectations. Demonstrate how this discipline reduces risk and leads to better solutions it is also an important part of involving the stakeholders to invest more on promoting an User-Centered design approach. Speak the language of stakeholders and presenting findings and recommendations in terms of business goals and outcomes could be also a key element that could help promoting more engagement from the stakeholders. And example could be framing requests in terms of overall project ROI. A small UX investment early on can pay off exponentially.

I couldn't agree more on using a multi-channel approach for educating colleagues. Lunch&Learns, blog posts, drop in sessions and guides on terminology. We aim to host regular "Lunch & Learn" session to walk the team through the lifecycle of a UCD and UCR studies. The hands-on experience helps to challenge bias and allows even the biggest sceptics to see the true value, something that is always at the forefront of their minds. It's incredible to see how such initiatives can light up curiosity and lead to more mindful implementations in projects and easier collaboration in the future through shared understanding of why we do what we do and the value it adds.

Socialize UX best practices like design thinking, cognitive psychology principles, accessibility, and inclusiveness. Set new UX standards. I think the key is making the UX discipline an indispensable part of how the organization operates, not just an subsidiary activity. With partnership and perseverance, UX teams can drive cultural change.

We need to find ways to immerse our colleague and leaders in our user's experiences. This can be difficult if you are building a B2B product that your colleagues can't easily use in their day to day work. One way around this is to design thoughtful immersion experiences where colleagues are given a persona, a task to complete and access to your digital product so they can really step into the user's shoes. In my practice I found this could be a game changer for building empathy and for identifying key priorities to address in the user experience.
