Absolutely spot on! The process to verify such aspects is more important and only written statements by vendor should not be taken on face value. One should devise fool proof methods to carry out due diligence. Some of these could be visiting vendor sites, connect with the existing clients, if they are service providers. In case of products develop quality checks to ensure the compliance to required standards.

Il est nécessaire d'établir des critères d'évaluation basés sur les valeurs de l'entreprise et ce sont par ses pratiques et initiatives que le fournisseur devra démontrer son engagement. Dans les critères il est possible notamment d'évaluer les politiques internes du fournisseur, ses processus de qualité mais aussi ses engagements sociaux ou envers la durabilité.

First of all I would not use the term "Vendor", in any of my disucssion. We reach out to such organizations to enhance or support our business operations.It works wonders when one addresses them as service/good providers or better as service partners, It displays a collaberative mindest, without moving away from the SLA's or the desired outcome. Typically service partners already have capabilities, eg- CAFM tools to manage services and since these may be used widely for other clients, they may have special discounts or free licenses,which one can leverage during the contracting phase.Link the desired WIFM(what's in it for me) since getting the right tools for business will achive mutual benefit and support a high CSAT for the suppliers.
