If you're learning a new skill, the majority of people will not implement it straight away, so be one of the ones that does. By implementing straight away for a sustained period of time (it could be as short as a week but at least a month - or three would build a clearer picture), you will see results in your vanity metrics. Finally, it means rewarding yourself and celebrating your online marketing successes with yourself and others.

One thing we often forget to do is celebrate wins as much as we focus on losses. Celebrating hitting or exceeding your goals can help you build momentum. At the end of the day, it's momentum that's going to keep you innovating and striving to be better.

How do you know if you are applying what you learned effectively? Marketing analytics—that's how! That's the obvious answer. Quantitative data. Tooting your horn is an improvement in and of itself, if you're not already doing so. As a reward, you'll likely notice an immediate bump in traffic to your profile because people are searching for people who have completed the course. People who know you will be curious what else has changed. Is this not what websites are constantly doing—pining for repeat visitors! However—Qualitative data. Feel-good stuff. Sharing your accomplishments is user-friendly and high-yielding. It's not uncommon for most anyone to receive hundreds of impressions, a dozen or more reactions, and congratulatory messages.

Network with marketing communities, get certified, read relevant books, attend workshops, and use tools like Hootsuite. Study case studies, develop soft skills, set specific goals, and adapt strategies based on data to improve your skills continually.
