As a coach, who is extremely passionate about the life-changing benefits and outcomes of coaching, I believe it's absolutely vital that all coaches invest in their own coaches. This not only enables the us to have our blind spots pointed out quicker, but we are able to address them swiftly with that independant perspective. Not only that, when you believe in the power of coaching, it's imperative that you are demonstrating to your own clients that this is a process you also go through yourself. You can't expect your clients do to something you are not prepared to do. I also believe that Leadership and Learning go hand in hand, if you aren't interested in furthering your learning, you aren't a natural leader.

By reflecting on your long term career ambitions you can zero in on what skills you should continue to develop or expand as well as new ones to acquire. That will help you decide what education/certifications you should begin working on. Set goals, determine time lines and make it happen. The key to success is action.

Leadership and Learning go hand in hand. If you aren't constantly curious in what else you can learn or in other ways you can develop, you aren't a Leader. Self awareness here is important, knowing how you like to learn, retain and implement new information you are on-boarding, some prefer audio, others visual or hands-on for example. So pick something that is going to be the most effective way of getting the outcome of the learning activity that you desire. Planning it in, blocking time in the diary, prioritizing it, is going to be the only way you stick to the schedule you have planned and remind yourself why you are doing it, what you want the learning out come to be & how it's going to enable you to lead or perform better.

simply put - never stop learning. Each day brings with it the opportunity to increase your knowledge or experience. Continue to update your learning goals. Do not hide your learning from your team. It will show them you take it seriously and in response, hopefully they will to.
