How do you manage and nurture your online lead generation team and talent?

From my perspective here are 3 mistakes that we make commonly while defining goals and strategy - 1. Incorrect metrics. This is in my view the biggest mistake. If you do not have a process to define the right metrics, or you choose a few because everyone else is using the same, you may miss out on a lot of valuable market research. 2. Not using good quality leads. Wrong leads or low quality (people that do not have a need for your product) will give you diluted or incorrect data which can actually damage your campaign. 3. Strategy that does not consider the entire customer journey. This is self-evident. Not defining the stages of customer journey and not strategizing to include leads from all the stages can give you incomplete data.

Startegy and goals are important but the culture needs to be right too. I recommend encouraging your team to try out new tools and lead gen methods and give them the freedom to own their projects. One approach we’ve found incredibly useful is rotating team roles. By having team members switch between tasks like content creation and data analysis, they gain a well-rounded perspective on the whole lead generation process. This cross-training sharpens their skills and makes the team more adaptable and resilient.
