The simplest approach ! Kindly take inventory/stock of all operational equipment including DB and SMDB, Generate a maintenance checklist daily, weekly and monthly sectioning the various mechanical and electrical components in the entries. NB: for DB’s and SMDB’s air blowing of panel against dust particles and monitoring the side heat extractors fan . Also check cabling and terminals if there is any arcs or short circuit on all terminations on CB, contactors, relays, phase failures, HMI and so on . Back it up with E-20 which implies routine inspections every 1 hour keeping track of operations and monitoring performance and zero down deviation timely when spotted in the cause of the check . That’s my 2-cent ??

Knowing where you are finding points of high stress and having spares as well as critical pares for things like power supplies. Keeping a ledger to me only helps with what I have done and points out a history of certain failures but, if the failure is common it should be part of the PM

I choose to have thermal images of things running normally. Doing so will help find unusual problems with bearings or other components. Beyond that I would keep an eye on how the system amperage that will show changes in things electrical as well as motor stress

Look for things that have a set life expectancy such as power supplies capacitors normally are only good for about 10 years and replace fans after a while and clean any dust out of the system. Dust will act like a blanket causing more heat.
