An example is that whenever you deal with a problem you haven't identified its root cause,will only worsen the situation rather than solving it.

One thing I have found helpful in my experience is re visiting the processes all together. Most of the times the ball drops when your communication is poor within the team or at times there is a new joiner in your team with less experience. It all comes down to proper communication and continuously keeping an eye on performance of your team.

In order to successfully identify the root cause, you also have to create a culture of understanding and empathy. If your team knows that you will approach a mistake from a learning perspective, they are more likely to help you identify the cause instead of trying to cover it up or play the blame game. Accountability and consistency are key. I learned early on that peoples reactions to taking accountability are vastly less aggressive than when they think you're lying or trying to place blame elsewhere. I have found that it takes the steam out of people when they have been gearing up for a battle, only to find out you've waved your white flag. Own it, and come to the table with a resolution, and be genuine in your apologies (where applicable).

Approach problems head on they'll always get worse if they are left or put off. A probem will grow if you let it and can end up expensive.

The intricate relationships between the property manager and his client -owners of the property on the one hand and with those who are entrusted with the use of the property to achieve the owner's objectives on the other hand puts the property manager in an unenviable position. The only way to learn from property management mistakes is to engage the tsk of property management with good documentation and retain a knack for constant review of historical records.

In many instances, certain processes may apper to work in the interim and only become an issue long after the act which has gone unnoticed has resulted in some undesiable outcomes. So if we are going to learn from mistakes; first, conscious effort must be made to document all processes leading up to attainign a set objective in a manner that makes it easy to track. Second, the entire work process must be hinged on established operating protocols that enables some tracking of every work process -what, who, when, and how. Third, retaining a robust communication system that boosts exchanges of feedback and work reviews.
