They don't teach these courses in college... My first foray involved ethnicity and specific tastes in my territory. As a young entrepreneur, I sold multiple lines of beverages in many diverse areas. When it came time to visit the Dominican neighborhood, I ran out of apple juice every week for three weeks. Finally asked the obvious question, and learned a beautiful lesson on preferences by ethnicity. Never ran out of apple juice again! It also made the entire terminal more profit and drove efficiencies on a much greater scale.
