In my experience, CI can also enhance security. Because issues are detected and fixed earlier, this includes security vulnerabilities, both known and unknown. Secure coding practices, when employed, are strengthened when combined with CI. Corporate security teams, compliance assessors and accreditation authorities can be provided dashboards and reports on the continuing security improvements. Ideally, the security teams is included in relevant communications as a part of the CI practice. While security teams may initially feel that CI moves to quickly for security to understand the state of deployments, once they understand the benefits, they can often be important organizational non-developer proponents of CI.

2 How CI works

Continuous Integration (CI) is a set of steps that are initiated when a developer pushes code changes to a repository. This process may include pulling the latest code, running automated tests and code analysis, packaging the code into an executable or deployable format, deploying the code to a staging or production environment, and reporting the results and status of the integration process. In my experience, it depends on the existing tech stack and ecosystem that will influence in selecting the CI tools or platform. For instance a java based platform require docker and jenkins with GIT code repo where as a C# or SQL based implementation using Azure DevOps will take care of CI and CD including the tools required like Azure Data late, power builder.

An example of this maintenance is required for an IT professional and in every field its mandatory to keep pace and learn the latest especially in CI, CD and other deployment platforms. Certification, Courses are a good way to keep up with this.
