This is something very interesting & the best part is I have worked in both in-office & remote setup for quite some time. Having worked in security operations centre I have seen how casually employee store passwords & how predictable it is. Based on my experience the genesis of majority of the attacks happens due to password getting compromise at first place. In my past organisation one of the tactics we used was to employ password management tools 1Password, Keepass which are the major player in password management. The best thing is that they do autofilling, auto generation of password based on the organisation password policy, auto regeneration of password in case it is reaching to expiry & many more amazing features. This is one of the most critical part to have a continuous monitoring systems in place. There are many open & proprietary tools which can help here which I have continuously used in my organisation. Here we can employ open tools such OpenSearch, OSSEC, Snort as you security monitoring tools. Sonarqube can be using for doing for code quality checks. In case you want to use proprietary tools one can go for SIEM tools like QRadar, Splunk, Sentinel etc. And for the vulnerability scan one can use Rapid7, Nessus etc. Having all these alone won't help you need keep training your security professionals & employees on new cyber hygiene methodologies to stay updated & safe in more than fast evolving cyber attacks.

Based on my experience in Cyber Security world one thing which is most neglected & legacy run across the corporate world is the way yearly mandatory cyber security compliance training is conducted. I am sure if you take the feedback from employees most of them tell it is boring & ineffective. I believe these compliance training should happen live, in-person having real life examples from the past security incidents happened in the organisation. Security Compliance training should be more engaging, fun, & gamified which leaves indelible imprint on the employee mindset. And these training must not only help them secure company data but also sensitise them how to remain secure in their private world this will amplify the training outcome.
