This process works in a accurate way if every record is booked correctly. Every colleague should be informed about the results of his job because a single book in account payable can make a change in financial estimations.

In my experience, establishing and nurturing strong relationships with customers is essential for robust cash flow management. Regularly communicating with customers at every stage of the sales process ensures that any issues are dealt with promptly and that customer satisfaction and timely payment is secured. Ensuring that invoicing is always timely and accurate by invoicing against a purchase order helps to establish your business as efficient and trust-worthy. Although automation has its place, building personal connections with accounts payable contacts and establishing their communication preferences can play a huge role in expediting payment.

Projects that require an upfront spend on materials can be potentially disastrous for cash flow. In such circumstances, suppliers may be able to offer increased credit limits & extended payment terms to customers with whom they have established strong relationships. Ensuring that you pay your suppliers on time (& communicate with them if you cannot) is essential in developing such trust-based relationships. Building long-term relationships with your suppliers can also secure priority supply & preferential pricing thereby expediting the sales process & increasing gross margin. In short, nurturing relationships with your suppliers can provide financial flexibility, improve operational efficiency & establish a mutually supportive network.

I have 2 rules for running any business & 3 daily questions that should be asked. My 2 Rules: Rule 1: Focus on Cash Rule 2: Don't forget Rule 1. First thing every morning I want someone to answer these 3 questions: Question 1: How much cash do we have? We do this by completing a bank reconciliation. Question 2: Who has our cash? We establish this by reviewing our aged receivables report and ensure we are operating effective credit control. We need to ask for and chase outstanding cash. Question 3: How do we get more cash? We implement a series of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in our business that drive profitability and are used to keep people accountable alongside driving performance. It's as simple as that. Measure cash & monitor it.
