How do you handle a team member who is not following quality control guidelines?

From an old experience, dealing with a team member veering off the quality track can be a bit like finding a misplaced sock ?? – a tad perplexing. My go-to strategy involves a friendly one-on-one chat ??. No magic tricks, just a conversation about the importance of quality control guidelines. It's like our roadmap for excellence. We'll navigate, understand the hurdles, and hopefully, steer our teammate back on the quality highway. Because in our collaborative journey, adherence to these guidelines is the compass guiding us to success.

steps to address the issue effectively: 1. **Identify the Problem**: Begin by identifying specific instances where the team member has not followed quality control guidelines. 2.meeting with the team member to discuss the issue. Offer specific feedback on the areas where the team member needs to improve. Provide assistance, training, or resources to help the team member meet the quality control standards. Establish clear expectations moving forward. Clearly outline the consequences of continued non-compliance with quality control guidelines. 3.Keep a record of all communication, feedback, and actions taken regarding the team member's non-compliance with quality control guidelines.

It's best to always have a documented agreed quality strategy with clear examples and guidelines. If for some reason a team member is not following this their performance can be measured against the documented philosophy to help guide them.

Determine if the process is the issue or if the process is miss understood. Next are they skipping it because the demands require it? If your QC process adds 30 seconds to a task that is meant to take 15 seconds. Your output it’s misaligned and short cuts are being taken. Finally if it is just a failure of the employee to comply. You terminate them.

My first approach is always understanding - whether the individual understands what it is that they are doing and why, I know from personal exxperience that It's so much more easier and 'convincing' to do the right thing when you know WHY those measures are put in place to follow. The next time is allowing room for growth and learning, what comes easy to others might be challenging to others and most importantly, finding the right strategy to achieve this. Without making the individual feeling shame in the learning process, while offering as much patience and support. This can only be achieved if you practise what you preach. This reinforces the confidence and pride in what you're doing, as well as doing the right thing.

Un error a evitar en relacion a la comunicacion es que debemos recordar lo que es en sei la comunicacion. Me refiero al punto de que muchos de los que dirigimos pensamos que la comunicacion es una retaila de orndes e instrucciones que se dan a los colabordores y que estos deben seguir como ovejas al matadero. La comunicacion debe ser genuina, incluso permitiendole al colaborador que salve su pellejo.

I feel all engineering teams need a strong leader to guide the team on practices and decision making. If a team member can not easily be guided in the right direction the leader should then step in to analyse the problem and mentor them. Thought in some cases a team member may not be a good culture fit.

En el caso de los supervisores de areas , lo mas sano es que sepan que deben ir realizando rondas continuas, que no por hablar ya todo esta corregido. Recordarles que desde que un problema se empieza a monitorear y darle seguimiento, esta corregido al 50 %.

Entrenamientos, refresh periódicos con supervisión evaluada, de manera aleatoria, establecido en un cronograma que permita monitorear de manera efectiva la instauración de una metodología de trabajo y una cultura de aseguramiento de calidad En lo personal me ha resultado muy útil esta práctica, genera consciencia y forma cultura de calidad a los colaboradores

Una creacion de un dasboard limpio y que pueda entenderse de manera simple es lo ideal. Comunicar los datos y permitir que todos participen en su interpretacion y planes de acccion necearios para su mejora.

We conduct month QA Audits that are random among team members. If an individual is not following QA standards the Audit will show a "deficiency". With that the Auditor will set an "Action Item" for correction. The person will then respond as to the corrective action they will be taking going forward. If there are multiple occurrences found over time through the individual Audit process their Team Leader gets involved and a formal improvement plan is developed to change behavior(s). This typically ends in alignment with higher elevation. It is more common among newer employees in their role.

Communication with lot of people learned to you each person has a special behaviours.so always i review my experience about people who worked with me to detect the main problem that i should fix it. Definitely, that person will be placed in one of my mental categories that I have encountered before

Los exitos logrados en calidad se olvidan mas rapido de lo que uno supone, por ello el careo antes de realizar un conjunto de tareas es bueno y valido, siempre que se permita que la conversacion sea estilo mesa redonda, donde todos podemos compartir lo que hemos aprendido desde cada optica y lo que entendemos que debemos cuidar .

I agree to a point but in some instances people struggle with home life changes and issue that could affect quality for a period of time and that they should be offered support to help them though there struggles or it could be a fact that they may need extra training to react the standard the the business requirements
