"Quality over quantity" is my goal! I look for networking groups that are in alignment with my personal and business core values. I find referrals and testimonials are an easy win to make you join a group or community. When you see others flourishing in those arenas, it does make you want to join as well. I also look at the mission, description, and values to see if I will be able to serve with value AND also be served with value. I like to have an exchange, but more than anything boosting my growth and awareness.

When I join a new community, I am not one to quickly introduce myself to the group unless asked to by the leader.
