How do you ensure your product's consistency and accuracy?

-in my experience this is one of the most important step especially developing new parts. The processes are needed to be designed based on product current requirements and future requirements as well as during a continuous change in demand the process need to adopt as well. A well designed manufacturing process ensures the same.

Here are the key components: Verification: This step ensures that the product meets specified requirements at each stage of development. Validation: This process ensures that the final product meets the needs and expectations of the end-users. Manufacturing Equipment and Process Validation: This ensures that the equipment and processes used in manufacturing are capable of consistently producing products that meet quality standards. In-Process Control: This involves monitoring and controlling the production process to ensure that each step is performed correctly. Post-Market Surveillance: This involves monitoring the product after it has been released to the market.

The company I work for is vertically integrated, so we prototype parts designed in house. During that phase we review the drawings, and "mark them up" with changes we would like to incorporate to make them easier to manufacture while maintaining the design intent. Those mark-ups are reviewed by the design group before we make the prototype parts. During the prototype machining, we also watch for opportunities in either geometry or tolerances to be considered. The end result is usually a part that meets design intent and is less expensive to make.

It’s true that manufacturing design evolves over time and improvement opportunities in existing equipment can be used as feedback to future designs. So one key thing is to identify gaps in existing manufacturing design and eliminate that in future versions.

Meaning measure and monitor all possible inputs to the process, like air, pressures, voltage...instead of doing it to the final product, doing it to final product is just a confirmation of how well are your inputs to the process.

Without all the correct specs and a singular interpretation metrology and quality insoections will not be able to identify and flag nonconforming product, tooling and processes may be selected bas3d in inappropriate / incorrect criteria, and all of these listed quality tools become "noise generation" rather than useful data generation.

I have found that Supplier quality and the careful selection and monitoring of your key suppliers is one key factor that determines product and process stability in your production lines.
