In my experience, most organizations do not regularly review their R&R programs - this has two pitfalls: most middle managers know how to use or game it, and two - many employees do not see value in the process as it becomes routine. It is crucial to set up a process for regularly reviewing the program's effectiveness against the set organizational objectives. We should have a mechanism to gather employee feedback on what's working and what could be improved. There should be a willingness to make adjustments to ensure the program continues to meet the needs of your employees and your organization.

A transparent recognition program will do well for the employee morale and by extension, a positive employer brand. I think a major component of transparency is technology. If you have a recognition platform which showcases to employees, how they are being recognized, who else is recognized and what is being recognized will drive a positive culture.
