As pessoas querem ser impactadas logo de cara, assim como uma manchete de jornal, para continuarem depois consumindo a história.

Tell a War Story. Make sure however that is a different one then the one you told at your last speech/talk. You never know who will be in the audience.

From the beginning to the end, I strive to make my speech feel personal and relevant, creating a connection that transforms it into a lively dialogue rather than a monologue. This way, your audience is more likely to stay engaged and responsive throughout.

Know your audience. Do a little research. It helps if you can indentify a couple of folks in the audience by name. Give a little talk about why you are there to speak. If someone invited you to come recognize from the beginning and thank them for inviting you. That way if you mess up you will be the only embarrassed.

Establish a connection with your audience early on. Share a personal anecdote or express genuine interest in their experiences and perspectives. Building rapport creates a sense of trust and relatability, making your audience more receptive to your message. When they feel connected to you, they are more likely to stay engaged throughout your speech.

Shared experiences are key to building rapport. If we've fallen in love, if we hate sitting in traffic, if we lough out loud at our silly dogs, we can all relate- even if we have different values and opinions on other subjects. When trying to steer your audience to accept your particular point of view, allow room to share these universal experiences to reassure your listeners that you're just like them.

Tell a family friendly joke. Make sure you have practiced it before hand. If not you will wish you had. If you know something funny about the group you are talking too tell them. Sometimes they want to laugh about themselves too.

Incorporate humor to lighten the mood and engage your audience. Specially if it is at your expense... dont be afraid of not being the "hero" of the joke... A well-timed joke or a light-hearted comment can break the ice and make your audience feel more comfortable. Humor can also make your speech more memorable and enjoyable. Be mindful of the audience's preferences and cultural context to ensure your humor is appropriate and effective.

Humor gives your audience room to breathe, especially if your presentation is data-heavy or complex. However, humor is subjective, so don't rely too heavily on the success of a joke to propel your presentation forward. If it falls flat, you need to be able to move on as if it was never told.

Actively involve your audience in your speech. Ask questions, encourage participation, and create interactive moments. Walk the halls of your presentation space, if possible be close to the audience, if needed to be on a stage MOVE around... if you are trapped behind a podium... you need to be more creative... This can be done through polls, raising hands, or even short activities. Involving the audience keeps them engaged and makes them feel like an integral part of the conversation. It also helps to maintain their attention and interest.

Never underestimate the power of enthusiasm. Regardless of the content, if you can find a way to be excited about what you're presenting, your delivery will vary on it's own. And as a bonus; and you can motivate your audience in the process.

Vary your delivery. If possible walk around but not too much. Raise and lower your voice.. Practice, Practice, Practice. Did I mention practice.

A powerful closing reinforces your message and ensures it stays with your audience long after your speech is over. A strong ending can inspire, motivate, or leave a lasting impression on your audience.
