Use the simple 5 finger approach.....each learner will garner the understanding they need to absorb what they need to know: 1 tell them; 2 show them; 3 have them ask questions and confirm their understanding; follow up with a checkin :4 complete their review of onboarding; 5 correct any misunderstanding. I always taught managers to us this approach for training too. Creates an environment of listening and feedback.....

Before designing engaging and effective onboarding, you have to be able to answer the five questions: who, what, when, where and how? 1. Who - who are these visual learners? Are they students or maybe professionals? Are they comfortable with technology or not? Etc. 2. What - what are they trying to gain from these sessions? Their goals? 3. When - do their prefer live webinars or maybe just presentations and videos to self learn at their own pace? 4. Where - do they like 1-1 hands on demos at their workplace or schools or online hosted sessions? 5. How - how do you plan on gathering metrics so you understand if what you are providing is working or not? You need to tailor these sessions so your customers get the most out of onboarding.

2 Choose the right format

Visual learning is all about using images and pictures to help someone understand new concepts. Therefore, utilizing visual elements like charts, graphs, images and color at the right time during onboarding helps with communication. Make sure that the visuals don't take away from the goal of what you are trying to achieve, however. If the format is too color heavy with the wrong fonts for example, the customers will not get the value. Choose a format that delivers value to the customers in the best way possible. Leave room for feedback and future collaboration that will help fine tune this process.

Sorting activities on a whiteboard can be a great interactive activity. Prompt the class to write ideas on sticky notes, then find themes and group the sticky notes into categories. In person or remotely, it's a great way to visually categorize and synthesize ideas.
