I find that meaning and purpose comes from feeling bought-in to the company's vision and being involved in its processes, but what this looks like may vary widely from one agent to another. Some people feel more empowered when they have additional structure, some people feel empowered with more latitude, but giving people something that they can take ownership of and call their own is always a strong motivator.
