This framework is useful as it helps guide you through the stages. So once you've established your situation, eg, have the sales data. The board/ management will establish a goal/ objective like increase sales by 10 percent by a defined time.

You first need to understand your value prop and know your target audience. Only then set clear objectives defining what you want to achieve with the promotion plan, like increasing sales by 10%. I also like to set an aspirational goal that sounds almost impossible to achieve. Works great.

I'm super fascinated by narratives and messages, especially how they're consumed in very short time spans. The AIDA model is cool (Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action), but it doesn't provide context on limited customer timeframes. If I only have 5 seconds to consume imagery, video, or an ad, my thought process customer journey-wise will be absolutely different when thinking about attention grabbing techniques, and navigating interests, vs. being a customer in a waiting room for an hour. I would be more inclined to create new model called TAIDA, that adds the time element, to create a narrative that is mindful of time restrictions to create tailored messaging, since message effectiveness can vary depending on how/when it's consumed.
