I agree for example my core experience and skills are all about hospitality finance. being a CFO I am a hospitality finance expert and teach hospitality finance, hospitality business, revenue management and other aspects of hospitality. you have to speak to your core skills but you can still add the perspectives and expand the knowledge in other business areas. Currently I am exploring artificial intelligence in hospitality business as the overall .

The steps are the same for hospitality management educators, but here are some unconventional ways you can use to narrow your niche: - Highlight perspectives from hobbies/interests. Weave in your insights from experiences you've had, like travel. - Talk with other professionals to uncover problems seldom addressed in the industry. - Collaborate with cross-sector partners. Sometimes, the best ideas come from adjacent industries. Host discussions with other professionals that blend hospitality topics with those in different but similar areas.

Personal branding is the practice of creating a unique name and image for yourself in the minds of others. It involves identifying and defining the qualities and attributes you want people to associate with your nam. .Start by asking yourself questions like: How do you want to define your personal brand? What do you want people to think of when they hear your name? Is there a particular niche in the hospitality industry where you have an abundance of subject-matter expertise? Identify the areas in which you excel and the qualities you can hone. This will be the beginning of your personal brand.

Sometimes you may not be selling anything you just want to share the knowledge. In that case your value proposition could be sharing updated information, contrary perspective so that the learners or the readers can understand more about your feelings, your experience, your perspectives. so the value proposition does not only have to be selling but can also be sharing specific unique perspectives. in my example I have written a book on hospitality finance and creating courses on hospitality finance which are based on personal experience and practical experience in hospitality. So thats my value proposition. Simple and easy to apply short courses and knowledge.

In my experience building a online presence requires a huge consistent effort. You may just be sharing is single line every day on LinkedIn that would build your Personal Brand very much compare to writing a 2000 word article once in a month. As Hospitality Professionals you may be very very busy in Operations so you may not have time to go onto have a online presence or share the knowledge. You can still share what did you learn today or any specific thing that you want to share with the followers. and it can be consistent by just writing few lines every day.

In my experience, building an online presence takes time and consistent effort. It's important to regularly evaluate your strategies, adapt to changes in the digital landscape, and engage with your audience authentically. To create a value proposition, you need to identify the unique value that you can offer to your target audience. It should be a clear statement that communicates the benefits of your services and how they can help your audience

I learn every day, a lot of new challenges comes to my desk. the only way to learn through all these challenges is - reflection. At the end of the day I take five minutes or 15 minutes of my time and reflect what happened today how could it be better or what I could do better in those situations. This helps me learn 10x compared to passive reading.

It’s true you have to be authentic and be yourself. if you’re not someone who like to share knowledge you may not be able to share on a consistent basis even if you start small. Another prospective is - 1. establish, what you want to be 2. understand what you want to do and 3. make small and steady changes in yourself. So even if you’re not currently what do you want to be then you have to take steps in getting there.
