Everyone, led generally by a PMP who acts as the pinnacle of information, has to utilize a consistent approach and focus solely on their research and responsibilities for a successful outcome. Communication is key, collaboration is also vitally important. An approach of "stay in your lane" can be beneficial until one has the opportunity to collaborate with others to smooth differences and arrive at a common goal.

An absolute. Tools such as MS Project are invaluable in understanding who is doing what and when. It's also a critical tool in keeping the project on time and uniform. Of course there are many different project tools available but choose one that is available to all group members.

Conflict is inevitable. I sometimes schedule sessions on conflict resolution. I believe that learning how to address or minimize conflicts enhances communication and eliminates assumptions. As a team becomes more comfortable with constructive conflict and gets to know each other better, friction decreases. Have a open environment, where respect and diversity of opinions are the norm.
