I employed Inquiry-based learning and we found out that the students became more interested and excited about the topic than when we used a direct-method of instruction. It is often a trial-and-error process until you gain a sufficient amount of experience.

This involves measuring and evaluating the students' progress and performance in relation to the learning objectives and success criteria. Self-assessment and peer-assessment involve the students in the evaluation process, while performance-based and authentic assessment require students to demonstrate their learning in a real-world context. I agree with the suggestions mentioned above. While these teaching methods are really good, they might not work well if there's no proper way to check how well students are doing. The teacher might end up with students doing things that aren't part of the lessons and giving answers that are not consistent with the lesson. To prevent this, teachers can make sure they have clear ways to check how students are doing and give enough information about what they want to check. The teacher shouldn't keep their assessment and evaluation plan a secret from the students, or else the class could become chaotic and at worse the students become more confused.
