How do you combine IoT and smart device data?

For the collecting the our from smart devices at my home. I prepared AWS IoT and Node-RED. AWS IoT is providing free requests more than we required in my case. AWS IoT is cost effective, scalable and secure.

We work with LoRiot.io as our platform for LoRaWAN. We collect all the data from our devices on this platform before saving it to our database, it works well with such good scalability.

For LoRaWAN protocol enabled devices, we send and receive all data via MQTT API and HTTP API. We work our GPS with GPRS technology.

Respective to my previous comment, WiFi with OpenWRT might be the helpful combination for the small scale IoT deployment. However, after deploy several WiFi-enabled devices using OpenWRT, your environment is still local and could not be accessed publicly. Ngrok (open a public tunnel) or Dynamic DNS (open a public port for your dynamic IP) might be a solution for this matter.

It is very important to also do testing and validation before deployment. It is essential to identify and rectify any issues before deployment. This step helps ensure the reliability and stability of the IoT ecosystem.

All our data is collected in Json. Apache NiFi works with all this data in advance to save it in the database, for example, the payload is collected and there are some services that describe this data to finally save it in the database.

The data format should be unified for the later progressive development phase. One thing I think missing from this conversation is smartphones and their ability to connect to or turn into an IoT device. In many cases, platforms for this data comes in the form of an app you install on the phone, and maybe the device as well. The accuracy is built in and security comes down to securing the devices and the accounts themselves as much as possible with strong passwords, secondary verifications, security questions, etc. That's a whole other conversation. Cost is low with these solutions as you can often find it free or cheap. There are limitless possibilities in this area ranging from beginner to expert level knowledge needed for ease of use. You might find yourself controlling all of your IoT devices from your phone.
