Selecting the ideas is core to consider the company goals, viability, complexity and the most of all, consumers benefits and acceptance and size of the prize.

Identify key persons/institutions to collaborate with: R&D is involving in all spheres and as such collaboration would be helpful. Therefore, first, it's vital to identify the key resources and expertise needed to boost the chances of success of the R&D project. Second, explore the possibility of partnering with the identified institutions/persons to leverage the expertise and existing resources. There is no need to spend resources inventing the wheel as a means to completing the main objective of an R&D project when collaboration could save time and cut cost. Third, ensure that the relationship is well-defined, focused, and mutually beneficial to sustain it.
