I have also seen times when a snap-shot of the source code was taken and escrowed with a neutral attorney against the possibility that the solution provider company failed. And finally, you need to make certain that the data is portable and can be extracted in a format usable by other solutions if you need to migrate for any reason. I recognize that these might be hard asks and not always possible but the stability and security of your organization make the conversation worth it.
If you use a cloud service (e.g. email archives) or other services that store larger amount of corporate data, negotiate the exit price per TB in your initial contract to avoid a surprise. I've seen quotes from vendors for Millions of $$$ to customers that wanted after x years their "archived" data back to migrate to a different platform.
