I do not think Craigslist should be listed. A lot of people use the site for scamming and a lot of post on the site are not helpful when people are trying to get information.

I've taken to reusing the enclosure by adopting rack mounted equipment. This way I only swap out mother boards and only upgrade other internal components as necessary. Additional small Hdisks can be added rather than dispose of one to upgrade. I also can re-use motherboards in other rack systems requiring less processor power such as NAS. The down side is this may be a little more power hungry but if used as backup it can shutdown when not required. Often wonder rather than mother boards going to the crusher for recycling if they could be used in education for students to learn about the architecture as a use before metal recycling.
