We design structures to fulfill our client requirements (not less not more), Feedbacks help us to understand their requirements, so we can adjust our design accordingly to deliver an optimised design, it's important to use enough resources as required, not gold plating! So we have an economical design!

I will start by analysing the feedback and pointing out the areas that need improvement. I will work on the analysis to make sure that any adjustment retain the structural integrity and follow safety standards. By making adjustments that improve the overall design without compromising its structural elements, I will maintain stability between functionality and aesthetic.

Beware of project managers (lacking expertise, an engineering degree, or experience in design) that have developed budgets, schedules and/or made promises to clients without your input. Their superficial understanding pales significantly in comparison to what is actually or usually required for a design. Some may even believe that mechanical and structural engineers are interchangeable. During the start of a structural alteration, I once had a project manager request that I not consider design load cases related to pump equipment failure and environmental forces for existing equipment located outside that required frequent repairs due to failure. Sadly, I lacked the expertise to perform that design.
