While the Low code platform definition is simple and powerful, it is important to understand the history behind each one to better understand what you’re getting into. After all there are drastically different tools using this label. Some of the come via acquisition (eg. SAP Appgyver), morphing traditional workflow tools (eg .Appian, Pega) scaling task-focused tools (eg. Airtable, Bubble) or expanding across the enterprise a solid functional foundation (eg. Salesforce, ServiceNow). This is an ongoing process and one worth exploring further before committing to a particular vendor, particularly as it relates to templates, technical platform strength, interoperability and many other drivers that make adoption sustainable over time.

In my view the biggest benefit is shifting the dialogue to a business problem solving mode rather than what can IT support? - and IT taking weeks to come back with a solution.. and a budget request….This change in focus and language broadens the ability to collaborate and come up with better solution. The fact that you can prototype these solutions in real time, with low cost and tweak then easily makes them all that more powerful, minimizing the disconnect between IT and the business will dramatically compressing timeframes.
