How can your Technical Support team respond quickly and effectively to cloud security incidents?

Follow the SANS PICERL model, as hopefully prior to the incident, you did a good bit of preparation (i.e., having a good IR plan and playbooks, tabletop exercises, attack surface management with vuln scanning and penetration tests, good BCP / DR plans and procedures, etc.) When an incident comes to light, don't panic. Take a deep breath, and trust in your response procedures, logging & tools, and having good support from your leadership. This makes it easier to rally the right team, communicate effectively, and figure out the scope and damage. As needed, bring in the external help you need as well, which can include breach counsel, your trusted DFIR firm, PR support, insurance, etc.

In my opinion, 3 points need to be considered here. 1. Make sure all of your employees should have a basic knowledge of what is security and how they should react when a security breach is about to a happen and give them a free hand to report that to the right team. 2. Engage multiple tools that should Monitor the cloud security all the time with the most effective. 3. The technical support team must work with the Principled Entrepreneurship.

Collaborate with external experts, provide transparent post-incident reports, and integrate threat intelligence feeds. Simplify user-friendly incident reporting to ensure swift identification of threats. Effective communication is paramount. Swiftly inform key stakeholders, including management, customers, cloud providers, and internal teams, about the incident, its implications, and the actions underway for resolution. Regular updates are crucial to maintaining trust and transparency. Avoid technical jargon and vague terms to ensure clear understanding, minimizing panic and confusion. In prioritizing communication, your Technical Support team reinforces trust and facilitates a collaborative response to the incident.
