Having an option of ‘internal mobility’ creates the story line for the career focus and the investment that the organization is ready to do to grow home talent. Personally, I have experienced working for an organization which had a strong internal mobility policy not only in ‘spirit’ but in its true essence, and probably the only organization I spent more than 5 years. With the ‘war for talent’ out there – and the constant hiring agenda – building a good policy, process and giving visibility of what roles are available at any given point of time, surely promotes global talent sourcing. This also gives opportunity for people to move across team, thus building well-rounded professionals across streams with opportunity to learn and grow.

Having a proper Talent dashboards will assist a lot in this context. Ensuring that the dashboard includes all the necessary parameters will involved significant input from HRBPS. Since the HRBPs should understand what are the challenges from each of their area, locally or globally. Next is to create the relevant scenarios to utilize the Talent dashboards and move from descriptive to prescriptive analytics. So your talent mobility platform shouldn't be a separate platform from your Core HCM system.
