How can you use technology to streamline team communication during recruiting?

Our team is dispersed with people in different states and time zones. We have found Slack to be the best tool to keep us engaged and communicating throughout the day. Slack is great because it is user-friendly and very easy to create huddles, and share screens. We can also see each other's availability. We pretty much chat online all day to keep each other updated on the statuses of jobs we are working on, client updates, etc. Additionally, we have team meeting via Zoom every Monday and if all else fails, we send a text if it is time sensitive. These tools really work for our team; we are tight knit and never have conflicts among the team!

Internally, clarify what information needs to be shared with your team, the frequency of updates, and the kind of feedback required. Externally, delineate your communication channels with candidates, and any coordination needed with other departments or partners. These goals set the framework for selecting the appropriate technology, whether that's an advanced Applicant Tracking System or a simple shared document. The aim is to streamline communication, enhance efficiency, and eliminate potential bottlenecks, thereby enabling a more effective recruiting process.

Strongly believe that technology plays a vital role in recruiting process, some of key factors are : *Communication between key stakeholders about the requirement and expectation from the candidate so everyone is on same page. * Introducing candidate to all stakeholders who are located at different locations and in time zone by teams. * Signing up all the policies and contract by online portal and save everyone's time. * We use teams to communicate with all our team members at different locations to keep each other up to the date with all the latest updates.

I think when creating goals for communications during recruiting there must be an element of user research involved. ie what does a candidate see as a gold star recruitment process, what did they like, what was the worst example etc

Having an applicant tracking system (ATS) set up correctly when recruiting is key. Ensure that you are choosing an ATS that is user friendly but sends out alerts and messages to your team and candidates moving through the interview process.

When choosing a technology to support any part of a business the human factor cannot be overlooked. In the case of recruiting the HR team, who use the software everyday, should be experts. HR should ensure the system is used effectively to give the candidate a clean professional experience. A good candidate is interviewing the company as much as the company is interviewing the candidate. The system also has to be simple enough for a hiring manager to use effectively without significant training. An engineering manager's job is to manage engineers, taking time to learn software only related to hiring, is inefficient and is likely to result in poor utilization. Leveraging systems other departments use daily will be more effective.
