Involve your stakeholders in your process! Make sure your interpretation of their requirements meets their expectations. I've seen where requirements are misinterpreted, resulting in a much more expensive implementation than needed because a conversation was not had. I've also seen systems delivered after being built without stakeholder involvement that did not meet stakeholder expectations. Both of these circumstances are avoidable!
