It is a good tool when it comes to monitoring network traffic and detecting malicious activities, providing real-time alerts and response capabilities. I commonly use it in my Pfsense box. Installing and configuring Suricata varies slightly depending on the operating system in use. Therefore you should refer to the official Suricata documentation for more detailed and up-to-date information. You need to configure Suricata rulesets to enhance its detection capabilities, and these rulesets can be obtained from the Suricata Emerging Threats project
