For example, accounts payable, customer invoice collections, inventory counts, scrap rates, etc. In a converse example, raising debt financing (assuming it is a solitary economic event) is not an area where Six Sigma framework can be applied.

Firstly define the pain points in the process you need to improve. For that you will need to do the external analysis such as industry comparison to identify industry best practices as well as internal analysis to identify non-value adding manual processes.
