In my experience I've found that the more industry events that you attend with the goal of building meaningful connections, you'll be able to build a strong industry network while sustaining and growing strong collaborations. In addition any volunteer or mentoring opportunities is a great way to expand your visibility in your industry & amongst your peers.

I use my professional associations as a leveraged point to not only expose my business but to learn from other professional businesses like mine. their secrets if how they lasted as long as they have, and what they bring to each table so that all of us in that particular association can benefit fro it! I have that this approach works for me so that is why I am very careful about what associations I join and want to be a apart of! I will read about them first, then I will check what the member of the association are talking about and their background!
