How can you use problem solving to improve social responsibility in your Culture Change career?

It's a universal temptation: jumping right to the solution before we've defined the real issue. That nearly always results in solutions that don't address the root of the problem. And we shouldn't stop at the problem. We also need to define what success looks like - both in its goal-state and in implementing our solution. Too often teams end up tripping through a rocky execution phase, or even pursuing different goals, because we jumped right to a solution.

???????? ???? ??????????????????: Many individuals may not be aware of the concept of social responsibility and its importance in a Culture Change career. ???????????????????? ???? ????????????: People often resist change, especially when it comes to altering established cultural norms and behaviours. ???????????????????? ????????????????: There may be a lack of proper training and resources to educate employees about social responsibility. ???????????????????????? ???? ????????????: The values of the organisation might not align with the principles of social responsibility, creating a disconnect.

?????????????????????? ????????????????????: Implement programmes to increase awareness of social responsibility. ???????????????? ??????????: Foster a culture that embraces change and rewards adaptability. ?????????? ??????????????????????: Provide training to equip employees with skills for responsible behaviour. ?????????? ??????????????????????: Align organisational values with social responsibility principles. ???????????????????????????? ??????????????????: Establish a system that holds individuals accountable for their actions.

Ensure that you are focusing on the actual social aspect of work. That is people, work design, psychosocial risk and psychological health and safety - all things that look into people sustainability and the creation of a SAFE culture. If you are not focusing on people sustainability and wellbeing, as well as protecting people from harm, then you are not really solving problems that relate to the social context. A resilience training for example is not solving an issue where work design is poor, people are over capacity and there is bullying. Really look at what underpins your culture. Because what is under that ice-berg is what is going to propel it forward.

Celebrate the milestones and the small wins as you go along to keep the momentum. Address setbacks. They always happen. Don’t ignore them and reorganize if necessary. Change is hard. Recognize that person moves at a different speed. Recognize that some loss occurs in the process. And do not give up!
