It is important to see if we have any tasks that need immediate attention, if not completed by the end of the day or in the next several hours, will have serious negative consequences. I always allocate some time to prioritizing my most urgent tasks earlier in the day. I know that if I push these to a later period, I'm at risk of being too busy as the day runs on.

While starting a new project I usually start by defining the scope, authority, and accountability of each role and ensure that everyone knows what is expected of them and who to contact in case of emergencies. After that, I choose to communicate the prioritization of tasks to team members so they know what duties and aspects of their job are most important. Although roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, I choose to meet with my team frequently to discuss their current workload and identify any unclear roles or responsibilities.

The third step is to streamline your processes and workflows and eliminate any unnecessary or redundant steps. This will help you improve your efficiency, quality, and consistency.
