Este método se puede utilizar cuando se tiene gran experiencia, un gran conocimiento sobre los defectos que pueden afectar a un equipo. Pero no es objetivo y por ende no lo recomiendo para equipos de alta precisión y plantas de alto riesgo.

Ideal für die Ultraschallprüfung von Komponenten in Luft- und Raumfahrt ist die Methode der berührungslosen Ultraschallprüfung oder auch Luftultraschallprüfung. Viele in der Luftfahrt verbaute Komponenten k?nnen nicht mit flüssigem Koppelmittel geprüft werden. Vor allem Materialien wie CFK/GFK (Faserverbundwerkstoffe) und Strukturen wie Wabenstrukturen k?nnen mit dieser Methode auf Defekte geprüft werden. Diese Materialien und Strukturen haben stark d?mpfende Eigenschaften und k?nnen daher nur von Ultraschallprüfsystemen mit vergleichsweise tiefen Frequenzen durchschallt werden.

Es un buen método de análisis, sin embargo al realizar la medición de espesor de un equipo, el mismo indicaba condiciones normales de espesor de las paredes, sin embargo al realizar un sandblasting al mismo, este revelo que la presencia de porosidades y espesores muy por debajo de los requeridos. En equipos que llevan muchos a?os trabajando y expuestos a elementos corrosivos que penetran el metal no le doy una gran confiabilidad a las mediciones.

En una oportunidad mando a fabricar un intercambiador de calor, su función principal actuar como condensador de los gases de Hexano y pasarlos a su fase liquida. Al observar la soldadura veo ciertas se?ales que me indican la posibilidad de porosidad, se lo indico al fabricante que no puedo montar ese equipo dado que representaría una fuga constante y para solventar el problema debería ser bajado y realizar un proceso de desgacificación de la planta y del equipo, algo extremadamente costoso, me indica que tiene la certificación de su departamento de control de calidad, por lo cual solicito el liquido penentrante y al realizar el test, indica efectivamente la presencia de porosidad y agujeros que e la soldadura.
