Here are few things I try to apply while presenting to an audience on any analysis or brainstorming discussion: 1. Try to understand the audience's demographics and use references or metaphors related to them. For a younger group, I'd use references from famous TV series like The Big Bang Theory, Friends, Suits, etc. 2. Use references from similar or different industries they can relate to. In this regard, I mostly use the smartphone industry and Social Media platforms because people can easily connect to them. 3. Use metaphors that the audience can directly relate to their work. For business it can be money, revenue; for product & tech it can be different apps, UX, etc.
