I'm not a wedding photographer, but rather a headshot photographer, but I still think Instagram is applicable. Instagram can serve as your online portfolio, in addition to your website. I also think it's important to be specific, more niche in your postings, so that you're seen as a subject matter expert in the category/vertical of the photography realm you're looking to be part of.
