Definitely!! With learning, understanding and documenting the outcome, beginning with the end in mind, is critical. This allows the learner and the educator clear visibility to where you’re going - now you can work together to get there. I’ve seen this to be effective with both young learners as well as adults and gives view to the path, instead of not knowing “what’s on the other side.” Seeing the big picture helps everyone!

A goal without a plan is simply a dream. When setting goals, I suggest goal mapping. First decide on the outcome goal. Then create performance goals that will lead to the outcome goal. Then create multiple process goals that feed into the performance goals.
