I've always really liked programs and that give opportunities to demonstrate understanding and learning through quizzes and accomplishments/badges. Not only does the quiz model offer solid "check-in" opportunities, but they also give little ego boosts and positive reinforcement through making high grades.

Some creative ways to use gamification to improve feedback would be to incorporate a mini challenge such as a short quiz, poll, or survey in which you are awarded a badge for your engagement. Everyone by nature is curious and loves to participate especially if you hide the common answers and make the user engage before the reveal! LinkedIn Polls is a great example. Another opportunity to incorporate gamification would be to use a fun maze that encourages your audience to really think and get through to the end of a maze to answer a question that rewards them for their efforts with a point system that builds and awards with a gift after building so many points.
