How can you use Creative Problem Solving frameworks for decision-making in a remote work environment?

Remote work is a real blessing if you know which tools you can use to make up for the lack of live interaction. Here are a few alternative free tools that I use to help with creative problem solving: * Excalidraw - an open source virtual collaborative whiteboard tool that lets you easily sketch diagrams, wireframes or whatever you like. * OnlineQuestions.org - a simple online tool to ask and upvote anonymous questions during large meetups. * nuudel - a free GDPR-compliant tool for planning meetings and making polls. You can include URLs and image attachments to each poll option.

Don't underestimate the power of a mind map or mind dump on a whiteboard (or an app like trello or notion - I prefer the old school method ... as the hand mind connection is powerful in helping your mind to really process the information rather than just trying to rely on our bio-RAM ... like saving your work to a hard drive rather than losing it when the PC crashes ;)

I began my legal career remotely because it was in the midst of the pandemic lockdowns of 2020 and something that I leveraged was the relationship building I had done as a summer associate the year before. Instead of waiting for folks to reach out to me, I took the initiative as the new kid on the block to reconnect and be wiling to ask for tips for my success. People were always willing because I came to our virtual meet-ups prepared. Ultimately, I think if folks are willing to subject themselves to dating apps, they can engage with their work and their colleagues virtually and collaborate on new projects seamlessly because we have all the tech necessary to so and they are all generally very user-friendly.

Hell is the grey area. Feedback, alignment, sharing of the vision. All of these are incredibly important to foster the intrinsic motivation necessary to increase the effectiveness of the workforce. Making sure that no one feels left out is tantamount.

Don't allow your ego to get in the way of asking for help and achieving your goals... Even the best business coaches have a coach ... the thing is, we all have blind-spots and problem solving while working remotely can work better for some & others need feedback or someone to ask thoughtful questions from a different mindset. The most important thing is having people you can reach out to with a positive & growth mindset,

Here are the points I can say working very remotely for last 5+ years with large teams. Be on top of things Be very involved daily. Be a people person. Identify top talent who can lead a team and lead issues to solutions. Build lots of dashboards with metrics to keep track of things that are important. Identify potential issues by thinking ahead using your background and experience.

Addressing isolation is crucial. Encourage open communication channels to bridge the physical gap. Implement regular virtual meetings to provide opportunities for team members to connect and share. Ensure diverse perspectives are considered during decision-making, helping combat the sense of isolation. Utilize asynchronous communication methods to accommodate varying schedules. Celebrate achievements collectively through virtual means to enhance team cohesion. Continuous reflection on communication dynamics and feedback mechanisms is essential for refining remote work strategies. Strive for a balance between synchronous and asynchronous communication, promoting a supportive and collaborative atmosphere amidst the challenges of isolation.

Tap into your subconscious mind ... I tend to listen to podcasts or audio books while moving my body ... a short walk to get your blood flowing and increase energy can be a type of moving meditation ... allowing your subconscious mind to work on the problem in the background
