Sysadmins have a variety of cloud automation tools at their disposal, depending on their needs and preferences. Cloud orchestration tools, such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager, coordinate and execute complex workflows across multiple cloud services and platforms. Cloud configuration management tools, like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet, manage and maintain the desired state of cloud resources and configurations. Additionally, cloud infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, and CloudFormation define and provision cloud resources using code and templates. Further still, cloud security automation tools automate security tasks and compliance checks on cloud resources; some examples are AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, and Google Cloud Security Command Center. Finally, cloud monitoring and logging tools collect and analyze data from cloud resources and applications; some of these are AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Google Cloud Operations. Additionally, there are cloud incident response tools that automate the detection and resolution of incidents on cloud resources and applications such as AWS Systems Manager, Azure Automation, and Google Cloud Run.
